Abstract
Offering academic library reference assistance to an infinite range of informational needs is complex as reference sources, formats, and delivery platforms increase. There is satisfaction in learning reference and user service expertise through a series of master’s library and information science competency sets. Locating a professional reference librarian at the university library reference desk to ask for help either in person or via a wide variety of computer platforms is an important and necessary aspect of students’ advanced learning in higher education.
