Final Manuscript Preparation Guidelines for Undergraduate Research Journal for the Human Sciences
Below are the details for formatting your manuscript for final submission:
- The following formats are acceptable: Microsoft Word (*.docx) and PDF (*.pdf)
- Articles maybe 1,000 to 3,500 words or longer with the approval of the editor.
- Page size – submission formatted to a standard 8 ½ x 11 page.
- Font type and size – 12-pt Times New Roman or similar font.
- Double-spacing – the entire manuscript will be double-spaced because this aids in readability and editing.
- Margins – 1-inch margin at the top, bottom, left, and right of every page in the manuscript.
- Page numbers and headers – use a running title (partial title) and page number of each page, flush right at the top.
- Paragraphs and Indentation – indent the first line of every paragraph about ½ inch and for direct quotes longer than four lines, be sure to indent on both sides of the text 1 inch.
- Camera-ready graphics and photographs or .jpg graphic files are accepted, but be sure and cite the original author with permission to use any graphics not originally developed by you.
- For in-text citations and references, use APA Style (7th edition).
- Order of Pages – title page, abstract, text, references, appendices
- The author is responsible for proofreading the manuscript and preparing a cover letter to accompany the submitted manuscript.
