The Adult Education Research Conference (AERC) is an annual North American conference that provides a forum for adult education researchers to share their experiences and the results of their studies with students, other researchers, and practitioners from around the world.

In a sense, the AERC is also a retreat for members of the adult education community; an informal, collegial gathering where all are encouraged to enter into lively debate over the future direction of research in adult education.

2020 Conference Save the date for the Adult Education in Global Times conference to be held at the University of British Columbia June 4 - 7, 2020. It is co-sponsored by the Adult Education Research Conference (AERC), Adult Learning Australia (ALA), American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE), European Society for Research in the Education of Adults (ESREA), Indian Adult Education Association (IAEA), International Society for Comparative Adult Education (ISCAE), and Standing Conference on University Teaching and Research in the Education of Adults (SCUTREA)
